user reviews of the Barton Inn, Barton St David

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

A top quality boozeteria, run by people with a passion for good ale, and an even greater passion for good fun! There's always a warm welcome, and something slightly mad about to happen!

I was thinking alehouses was on my wavelength about beer, but maybe I've just been lucky. Several visits have all provided good beer, and this pub is definitely part of my cycle crawl of that area.

Miss Anonymous 19th July hits the nail nearly on the head....but it's a real traditional man's pub...so what do you expect?
Occasional live music, sometimes warm and flat too....but a lively jukebox, never too quiet.
Traditional local cider usually available.

The whole pub is now refurbished, the bar area much bigger and generally the pub is a lot brighter. However, although the range of beers is good, their quality is far too variable. Whilst some of the beer can be good, all too often beers are flat and warm and seem to be past their best. Never-the-less, it's still worth a visit- you might catch it on a good day!

Last visited this pub in February just as Anita and Damon had taken it over. At that time the skittle alley was being refurbished following a fire the previous year. Good choice of real ales sold from behind the bar all from local breweries.
