user reviews of the Jamaica Inn, St Peter Port

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This is a very traditional working mans pub, there are very few of these left in Guernsey. If your'e looking for a nice themed pub to take the wife and kids, then it is fair to say that 'The Jam' is not for you. The proprietors Peter and Jackie are friendly and inviting, there is a pleasant lounge bar and a pretty lively public bar. It is very much a locals pub, but also popular amongst the building trades. the Jam is what it is! There is nothing false or pretentious about this pub. Working clothes are ok in the public but not the lounge bar. Pool, Darts and Jukebox are available, plus the usual supects like meat draws and shut the box competitions. You can also place your racing bets over the bar.
