A lovely, friendly little pub with fantastic food and reasonably priced wine. Family friendly and reasonably priced, the Sunday lunch is lovely and the evening menu inventive and beautifully presented. I've spent many a happy saturday evening here and I wish I hadn't moved away so I could spend many more.

Room smelled of strong cigarette smoke, stale and damp. Sink badly cracked, charged 45 for a single use of a room. Pub ok friendly people. No management on premises. Use pub but not B & B

This pub is extremely cheap, and is great value for money with not a bad breakfast for 45 per night for a double room with en-suite.
The room was the dirtiest I have ever stayed in with 20+ year old carpets - not hoovered, fire doors, that didnt close as they should, badly lit corridors, exposed wiring, hole in the bathroom ceiling, very old and cheap bed.

On the plus side, the staff/management were very friendly and extremely helpful / polite.

At the end of the day when a place is this cheap - you have to be prepared to rough it - one last good point - the bedding was clean - cheers

Been in a few times, found the hotel/restaurant side much more pleasing than the public bar. The hotel and restaurant side of the pub sells a variety of drinks at reasonable prices. Good place to look for if you're after a bite to eat but don't want to book during peak periods.

Never had a problem in there.

I've spent a couple of nights here over the last few weeks with work and I've really enjoyed it. It's very basic inside with a single ale on handpull and a rack of usual lagers/ciders etc. The b&b is really cheap and the breakfasts are certainly a good size. The restaurant is reasonably priced too for the size of portions and i didn't have a bad meal there in two weeks. Chirpy locals help the atmosphere and though it may not be to everyone's taste, I loved it.
