Lovely setting by the river but gets packed outside during summer. Some decent beers on but no real surprises, Taylors, Saltaire, Theaktsons etc. Could be great but for the big prices. Food is alright too but again a bit pricey. Bagsy - 28 Jul 2011 17:51
The Boathouse is a convenient place to relax and unwind after visiting the nearby Salt’s Mill. There are pleasant views from the windows across the River Aire to Roberts Park with Shipley Glen in the background. We called in on Wednesday afternoon when it was very quiet and totally lacking in atmosphere. The Saltaire Blonde was OK, but I have drunk much better (and cheaper) pints of this brew elsewhere. steve2905 - 29 May 2011 04:08 |
Agree with the last reviewer. Totally revamped in the last couple of years. Really nice location, pretty nice crowd and good beer. The prices are more Leeds than nearby Shipley, but overall a good night is had here. Seve1974 - 24 Aug 2010 19:58
Ignore any reviews written before 2009, this place has been totally refurbished since then! The best part about The Boathouse is definitely it's location, especially in the summer time. Decent range of lagers, not as many real ales as some people would like though, doesn't bother me as i'm a lager drinker. Food is pretty good here, eaten here a few times in the past 6 months, usually on a Sunday, reasonably priced, and the waiting staff are lovely. only thing is it's a bit pricey, wouldn't recommend a session here unless you've deep pockets tamsyndrome - 17 Aug 2010 16:33
Enjoyed a decent sunday roast here after a walk along the canal - benefits from a lovely location overlooking both the river Aire and the nearby Roberts Park and Salts Cricket Club. The roast was fine and Saltaire Blonde was in good condition. It was a little dark inside but I imagine in winter this is a cosy, warm place to retreat to, and the fire in the dining area looked quite impressive. ChrisP87 - 16 Jun 2010 11:38
