Sorry to see the unfortunate experience of Tilly123 below. I've always found the staff very friendly and efficient. Nice cosy pub with a real fire. Decent beers available but it's move of a food based establishment. Great lunchtime experience.

This pub isn't very friendly. Nipped for tea on a Sunday afternoon. Not very busy so thought great, no wait. How wrong were we. After a 45 min wait for a jacket potato we asked where our food was and got told it would be ready in another 15 mins!! We then cancelled our order and when the bar staff asked to cancel our meal in the kitchen we heard the chef shout "and tell them not to come back" don't worry we won't!! Disgusted by the service. Came 5 mins down the road to the manor for a carvery and it beats that place hands down. Food, service and decor!! Stay away if you want a nice quiet and enjoyable meal.

I visited this pub in May 2008. Boddingtons Cask was excellent and not over-priced,like some of the pubs in this area. Theakstons Old Peculiar was on draught too,but at 5.6% vol(or something daft like that) I gave that a miss. Good variety on the menu and I couldn't fault my meal. Big beer garden and play area for the kids at the rear of the pub, which backs onto a canal. Really good pub!

Great pub day and nite and the staff are excellent.

Allways seems to be a good atmosphere and plenty to keep you occupied, pool darts etc and large play area to the rear to keep the kids busy
