user reviews of the Lighthouse Inn, Talacre

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

I was planning on eating here after a morning on the beach with my 2 small grandchildren aged 5 and 3. After a 30 mile drive I parked up at the Lighthouse Inn and as you can imagine the children needed the toilet desperately, I ran into the Lighthouse Inn with them and took them to the toilet only to met on my way out with a torrent of abuse from the landlady who was waiting outside for me, she disregarded the fact that she was frightening and upsetting my grandchildren, I explained to her that I had been planning on coming to eat at the pub later on and she said she did not want kids in the pub, she was the most vile person and spoilt our day, It put me off ever going to Talacre again

No real ales, had to go for a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale. Tired decor but does have a childrens outdoor play area and is friendly enough

My boyfriend and I went talacre for the day reminiscing of my childhood memories I shared with my father who sadly passed away last year.

It was a glorious day, after a lovely walk along the beach and enquiring at the caravan park we decided to grab a bag of chips and enjoy a nice cold pint in the sun shine but instead we received a torrent of abuse from the land lady at the lighthouse inn regarding us eating our chips outside. I was appauled by her language and attitude, she could have politely approached us and asked us not to eat the chips on the benches instead she made a scene and ruined my day and happy memories I had of talacre.

I was looking forward to returning with my children to share my childhood with them, after this I will defiantly not be taking my children!
