| This has been one of my favourite pubs over the years, and we were always guaranteed a warm welcome. Unfortunately, the Chequers has recently been sold. The service is now rock bottom, and I mean pretty much the worst I have ever experienced. The staff are surly and unwelcoming, so much so I was really embarrassed to have taken my father there for his birthday. I would honestly avoid this place like the plague. In fairness, the food was good (if over-priced), but you don't want to spend an afternoon in a terrible pub with good food, do you? Zorn - 26 Feb 2011 20:43 |
| That says it all "now open in the morning for coffee. take away pizza, and the great new black rock grill" There was me thinking it was a pub. No surprise that pubs are rapidly becoming a thing of the past. Go to this place, and if you're not intending to eat, they're not interested in you largebells - 5 Sep 2010 14:32 |
