Best Hooky beer in the area, it is a boozer, but in a good way, friendly staff and customers, with a great atmosphere, log fires etc make it a welcoming retreat for the beer drinker wellinformed - 12 Apr 2008 17:05
Old style beer drinkers local. Good atmosphere if you like a joke and don't mind basic facilities. Beer is good and is good value. Take your wife into the lounge. The bar is for the lads and thier girls. I_ate_all_the_pies - 19 Mar 2008 17:28
A really nice village pub with excellent beer. (With ref to snert's review of 22nd July 2007) they've not done Sunday lunches within memory - perhaps they don't want to compete with the Joiner's Arms for food trade? Don't know. If you want a drink in Bloxham, go the Elephant and Castle it's the best by far. sloe_jane - 4 Feb 2008 22:02
Chas keeps a good pint, although most of his 'young' crowd don't appreciate it. Try it, it's a Hooky pub. Informe - 12 Dec 2007 10:46
Was all set to come here as it had the best review of all the other pubs in the village on this site. I didn't come to this pub in the end because I phoned ahead to see if I needed to book a table for Sunday lunch and was told "Sorry, we don't do food"! Probably won't be bothering to drive all the way to Bloxham just for beer. Can't understand a village pub that only caters for the village people and doesn't want part of the passing food trade. snert - 22 Jul 2007 16:54
