| This was one of my favourite pubs when I lived in York up to a year ago. Friendly Landlord, excellent beer and food. I know that Mick left around June just after me and I haven't been since. I hope the new landlord has kept it up. Brijb20 - 1 Apr 2008 13:37 |
| Recently visited. Very pleasant indeed, lovely pint of Samuel Smiths Old Brewery. Served with a smile, and thoroughly enjoyed. I sat in the lounge, fresh, clean and very comfortable. The bar was busy with plenty of people enjoying the beer, playing pool, chatting etc. Will definately take myself back as soon as possible.. Not to mention the great value of £2 for a pint and a half! alistair_cross - 16 Oct 2007 21:42 |

| Nice Pub,usual no-expenses spared refurb by Sams.Excellent beer, always well kept.Good value food,no smoking while food being served.Nice atmosphere from reading the paper to hectic nights when the pub is full.Seperate Pool area with strong Pool teams playing regular matches. tpot - 29 Jan 2007 19:08 |
| Nice and quiet just out of town pub with cheap Sam Smiths MILD, served a bit too cold but it's OK once stood for a while. Made a change from the more hectic "Hansom Cab" but now we have discovered Yorks only cask MILD, Tetleys in the "Blue Bell", doubt whether we will drink in here again.
