Excellent Adnams pub, as atmospheric as a British pub can be and equally good in Winter (cosy) or Summer (huge and awesome beer garden). Always have a great selection of Adnams on tap and food - particularly the fish and chips - is well cooked and good value. Only downside can be how busy it gets on weekends, particularly in tourist season so if you want to eat or get a table get there early!

Late write up from 29/09/08 visit (looking back through diary).
A charming country pub with flag and brick floors wonderfully worn by the passing of time. Inglenook fireplace surrounded by high backed settles and a boarded window seat still retained much character. Full range of Adnams on offer with the Explorer and Broadside very good. Other areas around the newer bar have equal character and seating for diners. This is well worth the walk up and down the creek from Southwold.

Lunched with friends last weekend during a circular walk from Southwold. Well worth the visit. Great old building - fascinating interior. Food was fine as were the Adnams beers. Unfortunately (for us) the Old Ale ran out before we were able to sample it and 'Lighthouse' was not on.

The interior of this pub is just amazing. Multi rooms like a Rabbit's warren.

Stone flooring actually bevelled and worn away in places.

A circular wooden booth situated smack in the middle of one of the largest rooms.

Aspall's Cider on draught just like every pub in this area.

Well worth a visit.
