| deceptively roomy.....very busy late on Fri/Sat nights......one of the few "local"pubs that opens 12 lunchtime....excellent service........takes a while to be accepted by locals, but well worth persevering...good beer garden & function room...surprisingly moreish hand-pulled beers....serves pickled eggs!! aberjed - 6 Jul 2007 21:00 |

| Drank in here a few times now, always has an excellent pint of cask Banks's Original MILD on handpull. They also serve the keg version, presumably for when the cask ale runs out. | Only the brave student ventures in here initially, but they will be rewarded with a bar that is essentially someone's front room, where the locals will all stop to stare at you before warily returning to their pints, keeping a beady eye on you throughout your stay.
