The manager is a miserable, rude so-and-so. This place really hasgone downhill since he took over. And the place needs a good bloody clean, too. cageyjoe - 26 May 2008 02:43
Went on a 7 pub crawl. Would have forgotten this one if someone hadn't written it down. Just plain ordinary and thats it.... BobBoiston - 17 Apr 2008 18:15
Atmosphere: A good atmosphere with a real mixture of people; suits, theatre goers, shoppers and shop workers. Just enough out of the way from the main Covent Garden drag so that it's not too busy. A couple of large TV's show live sport. All in all a good pub with a nice feel. Beers: This is where the pub really let itself down!! In theory there were 3 real ales, London Pride, Adnams and Old Speckled Hen. In practice there was 1 at most...........and then that ran out!! The manager /landlord didn't seem concerned as most of the clientelle seemed to be drinking lager (of which there were several to choose from). Food: I don't think they serve food in the evening. This is part of the small "Market Taverns" group of pubs which usually have a wide choice of excellent real ales, therefore I was disappointed that there weren't more here. The pub itself is good and a good venue for watching sport on TV, shame about the lack of decent beer. Maybe we were just unlucky. spacehopper - 16 Dec 2007 13:51
Nice place, good pint and had the football on (with out sound which I prefer) although the bar man was unable to tune the other tv in for the rugby much to the annoyance of the people upstairs. DirtyPanda - 12 Feb 2007 17:09
Great staff, but small bar. And no sexy barmen like the guy at the Crown ad anchor! Like this place, will come back if I'm in the country again. anonymous - 23 Dec 2006 03:30
