user reviews of the White Hart and Cellar Bar, Ampthill

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

There is a sign on the place describing it as an 'Ancient Coaching Inn' - the interior would suggest it is anything but. Very 'nouveau' with a 'young' clinetelle - although there were 3 ales on and the Youngs Special (Pride & Black Sheep being the others) was quite drinkable. Plenty of television screens but not much point having them when the only sound is the music that the bar staff want to listen to.

Does anyone know if this place now called 'The Stables'?

I like this place. Good beer, very busy with an extensive outdoor area. Has plenty of character.

A nice place to go on a warm night, tables & seats outside, good decor inside. There are funky blue lights at one end that make you feel more intoxicated than you are, but the music's ok & prices not too bad (well, compared to London bars anyway!) Young crowd, some looked about 15 but generally a good vibe.

Recentrly refurbished and transformed. Offers bed and breakfast and food all day. Drinks a little expensive but expected for a village pub. lovely atmosphere and very welcoming staff.
weekend evenings very busy and Monday night Jazz night alot of fun.
