DONT STAY!!
Shame I didn't read these posts first. NO PUB, just a restaurant with an excuse of a hotel above it. Hotel was outdated as was my room and in need of lots of TLC. Web search read "rooms with views" not mine. Outside the window the other part of the hotel blocked the view and then there was an extractor box under my window. I left after 5mins, phoned the manager from the reception and explained my reasons for leaving. I offered to make a small payment owing to having been in the room but not taken. Now I know why, they took the whole amount from my credit card

This hotel is the worst hotel I have ever experienced, when we arrived the hotel smelt like garlic and the rooms smelt like cheesy feet very unpleasant, staff was very un-organised and weird. The hotel was very outdated .We booked two rooms and room 2 was very smelly...the Windows were extremely dirty and there was a dirty stain on the bedding.then in room 14 the furniture was odd and outdated. In the end we did not stay at the hotel and when we called up to speak to the manager he accused us of being threatening and rudely put the phone down.advoid this hotel as much as possible there are more pleasant ,recently refurbished and cheaper hotels minuets away!

We stayed at the George Hotel last week for two nights. It actually is quite a nice place to stay, but IT HAS NO BAR! It may well have had a bar once, but the whole ground floor has been converted into a separate Italian Restaurant. As I say, we have no problem with the hotel, but we planned our walking holiday to actually stay in pubs. This is no longer a pub and it was quite a disappointment to us.

As you can see from the picture, this is now an Italian restaurant, not a pub any longer.
