| Lovely home-made food (steak and kidney pie was great), nothing too fancy but a wide choice. Very friendly bar staff and locals and the Donnington's BB was very well kept-as it should be as the brewery is just down the road! Flagstone floor, roaring fire, no musak or noisy fruit machines. | This seems to be the locals’ pub in the village and its rather unprepossessing exterior put me off going in for quite some time. Inside has one main bar plus additional dining and function rooms, a bit old-fashioned a la Donningtons, but the food here was a revelation – there is an extensive and stimulating menu usually including four vegetarian choices. | A right and proper country pub. Your choice of the entire Donningtons range! (both were well kept). Amazing food. Friendly landlady. A skittle lane in the backroom for those so inclined.
