Don't really understand why you could't have kept dry by either sitting in the pub or the car?

My review has little to do with the standard of food/drink at this pub but more to do with the service. My partner and i pulled into their car park in torrential rain after our windscreen wiper decided to pack up - v.scary and v.dangerous. We were able to fix the problem but needed the help of a pair of scissors which of course we did not have. After approaching a member of staff in the pub we were told that they couldnt help us but with no explanation as to why. If they were worried we were mass murders about to use their cutlery in our crimes they could have at least explained or supervised its use. Instead we were left in the pouring rain for 20 mins with no help (or offer of umbrella) apart from a patron who overheard the conversation and came to see if he had anything in his car that may help. I would understand to some degree if they were very busy and could not help but there was only one customer present. As a devout Cornish person myself i found this lack of assistance and compassion for someone in difficulty hard to deal with. Their food and ale may be fine but their attitude definitely left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Excellent food and dining by the river, washed down with pint of cornish real ale.
