Quite the opposite experience for us. We decided to go for Sunday lunch here as an alternative to the Percy and received excellent service from both the Landlord AND Lady. (Who actually came across as both welcoming and hospitable?!) Our dinner was superb with everything having been cooked fresh on the premises - certainly no microwaves involved! We will absolutely go again and highly recommend it. Poppy7836 - 18 Jan 2012 15:06
Can anyone tell me if this pub has improved yet? Has the manageress moved on? I have spoken to a few locals who have found alternatives whilst the Percy Arms is closed and none of them can stand The Drummond either. thisistrue - 22 Nov 2011 07:30
The Percy Arms is closed at the moment, so I was hoping to have a pint somewhere else. CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THEY HAVE REPLACED THE AWFUL MANERGERESS YET????? thisistrue - 27 Sep 2011 17:16
I had a quick pint in here last week, wish I hadn't. The same manageress was there again, this time customer side of the bar with the usual massive glass of wine in hand (number 1 priority). She gave the same condescending look. What an awful women. I am local whic is THE ONLY reason I would use this place, why would anyone with taste want to travel to go in here? Anyway I agree with zippy1975, I will definitely not be going back until I hear this person has gone!!! thisistrue - 14 Sep 2011 17:25
I was really looking forward to having a nice lunch out in the garden next to the stream. Beautiful garden and had talked this place up to my husband on having passed it a couple of weeks before. What a pity about the very rude manageress. She really should get out of hospitality. We were made to feel like we should apologise for ordering a glass of wine and our food! To finish it off when my husband went in to ask where our coffees were, no apologies but simply asked do you still want them with a look that again it was such an inconvenience and then some excuse for black water was slammed down on our table. Such a shame this could be a really nice pub. We will definitely not be going back until we hear this person has gone. zippy1975 - 10 Aug 2011 05:01
