Coopers is an unusual mix of pub, continental cafe and bistro but it seems to work, and the ambience is excellent when a few people are in. I have visited several times in recent weeks and have been impressed on each occasion. The beer is good, and comes mainly from local breweries, staff are friendly and the food is often of outstanding quality and very good value for money. The menu combines traditional pub dishes with some more adventurous restaurant style offerings, and they do both very well. By far the best eating/drinking venue in the area.

Eight ales and a Perry which is alternated with other other Ciders and Perrys. The Perry was expensive in comparison to the ales, presumably the price is based on strength. The bar food was pretty good. A not particularly atmospheric venue and the view of the main road from the window is uninspiring. Anyway, its the beer that counts!

elland and Copper Dragon repesented, both very good. however, the emptiness of the pu put me off sligtly, so only a 7/10.

Hard to fault the Market Town concept, though the customer base is a bit on the upmarket side, and they can get to look a bit samey. Black Cat was very good indeed though and they do promote real ale very well.

Doesn't get much better than this- excellent, well kept selection of real ales, good selection of foreign beers, friendly service. Just wish I lived closer!
