| I've been to the Masons several times and I have to say it's a classic example of a Dales pub, from its decor, its roaring fires, its friendly bar staff and local - and of course its beer. It's a brilliant spot to drop into on a cold winter's night or a roasting hot summer's day. Phil the landlord is a top man and the food is spot-on - nothing pretentious but good, honest and tasty. It's on a very quiet stretch of road and boasts amazing views of the kind of countryside which is unrivalled anywhere in Britain. Whenever I'm in the area, I always make a point of dropping by. I've never stayed in the accommodation upstairs but I'm reliably assured it's good. When you're at the Masons you truly DO feel you're in ''God's Country''. andrewrigby - 4 Jan 2007 13:54 |
