Only started using this place a short while ago, very pleased with the friendly staff, they all make you very welcome, and the beer, must be amongst the best kept I've tasted for a very long time, the pipes are cleaned, not just rinsed, between barrels, and not as most in the area will say "I wash the pipes once a week, whether they need it or not"
I'm told that the beers might go up by 20p per pint next month (February or March), this will still leave all ales below £3.

Part of the new enormo-family that seems to be taking over Brighton one pub at a time. Not necessarily a bad thing as they hold a really good selection of belgian and other beers as well as a more interesting range of lagers (yes I used the 'l' word on bite) than most. Excellent thai food and the usual upmarket but traditional decor we have come to expect.

Really like the atmosphere and beer here but decor is a bit odd. Good selection of well kept beers which change regularly. Dark Star supporters. Owned by same people as the Hanover gastro pub up Queens Park road. Well worth a visit

Called in on Saturday, first time visitor to pub, we were only customers early afternoon would expect to be livelier in evenings. Friendly barmaid, had pint of Dark Star Mild which was on good form.
