Great lil pub with nice surroundings. The stalagmites/tites NEED to be seen.Realy good atmosphere.I was talking with a young lad 18 and an oldish fella 55 we all had a few beers and a game of cards. Also next to the canal if your a keen fisherman and a caravan site just around the corner.Well worth a vist to this Real Pub.

Great pub in lovely leafy quiet location by the canal. Gudied tours of stalactites in old cellar for the price of a drink. Food looked good, but I couldn't samplea s tyhey stop serving sundays at 8pm

This pub is alongside the Leeds-Liverpool canal,it was built before the road and bridge outside and when they were built an extra storie had to be built on top of the pub so everything moved up one,the pub was the upstairs, the cellar was the pub but this means an additional cellar, water runs through from the canal and this has formed a "cavern" with stalactites and stalagmites, when I went the landlord took us down and it was floodlit, worth a visit just to see this,it is around 20 years since I went so I cannot speak of the food or drink but I had a excellent home cooked meal there, ideal if you like fishing
