Fairly typical estate pub best visited after a few pints. Had music on Sunday night one older guy on guitar and identical twin teenage girls on keyboards, bass. Atmosphere was edgy but what do you expect. The manager seemed to have control of the place. It could be 1973 inside. Far better than rubbish chain boozers.

Working class pub for sure, but even though I’ve stayed there for 5 hours on a Saturday night I did not notice anything scary at all; definitely not any pretentious idiots or anything like that. People had a good time and kept dancing for long periods of time.

It would take more than a new broom to sweep this place clean. The last time I braved to enter, there seemed to be a large number of aggresive lesbians causing hassle to each & everyone. The beer is - as always - foul. The surroundings of the place require you to wear some kind of protective armour at all times.Perhaps if the whole area was fumigated, then the Norman might - just might - stand a chance. But I doubt it...

The Norman Arms has been taken over by new management and therefore the crap Karaoke is no longer a feature. The pub is now a lot cleaner and the beer is as good as anywhere else. Have not seen any trouble as the new management do not tolerate any form of aggresive behaviour.

The pub now has live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
