I was told that this pub/resturant was fantastic and it lived up to this comment. Friendly staff, Landlady and fantastic food made the day a lovely day out for me and my family. The play area for my family was fantastic. GREAT PUB!! 10/10 JoeClements - 26 Sep 2011 10:14
This pub was suggested to me as a friendly outgoing nice day out. It was anything but, I have never known any landlady as rude, obnoxious and stuck up as to what I witnessed in the pub that day. I will certainly not be suggesting this to anyone nor will I re-vist this awful place. Not only was the landlady rude to the customers but she is also rude to her staff. If this was to under-go new management the place could be worth a visit. jenny12 - 21 Feb 2011 21:14
We spent News Years and really enjoyed the evening, the pub was well filled with families. In spite of some of the adverse comments noted on previous comments, It was great with a gopog family atmosphere. We would like to say a special thank you to Carol who did a terrific job in making everyone was well served My Thanks to the Running Horse's for a excellent night Thank You Jscoutjohnson - 31 Dec 2010 23:53
Responding to the comment about the man who drank in the pub for 53 years, it was a Tuesday evening and i attended the quiz. This man was rude and abussive and called the landlady a robbing bastard!!! i would like to say the landlady politely asked him to leave as he was upsetting other customers in this lovely friendly pub. As far as i can see there is alot of jealous people around and after doing my homework found out the owners in the area which are sucessfull, well done whoever you are keep up the good work and ignore those pathetic people :) keep up the tuesdays and wednesday nights! x katherine12 - 18 Sep 2010 00:28
I felt that after only one visit I HAD to give a 10 to this pub. My partner and I (who accompanied with our 18mth old son) are very hard to please, but after reading other personal comments on this site I felt I had to give some balance to the arguement... We went for lunch (all homemade fare plus lovely warmed rolls with soup)...we couldn't find a seat we were happy with at first and the manager/owner (Belinda) introduced herself and offered to come and find us after we'd ordered to make sure we were kept a table. She was warm and welcoming and completely as a hostess should be in my opinion!? When our son was starting to play up, Belinda even took time out from her busy sunday service to take my son outside to the secured playground at rear so we could finish our meals in peace!! I am a dog owner and have taken my dog to numerous pubs and even a hotel in the past, I do not however see it as a god given right to be able to sit in or outside any premises just because it's adjacent to a canal?! In summary the home made food, fantastic grounds at rear and lovely welcoming landlady made our visit....so much so were already planning our next visit. Cheers Belinda, ignore your haters, lovely place you got... 10/10!! TheOMs - 13 Sep 2010 17:31
