user reviews of the New Crown Inn, Bath

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Bizarre interior layout due to corner position at the top of Chelsea Road. Nothing special but good alternative if you can't be bothered going into town on a Friday night. Short walk to the Dolphin and the Weston.

Just a brief, pyjama-clad scuttle from the local "special" unit at the Royal United Hospital, the New Crown is the sort of place where even the chairs have tattoos on their arms. The Crown is a fantastic little pub, where, if banter is the order of the day and hygiene isn't at the top of your list, then it won't disappoint. For a small price, you can stay the night in the very clean and comfortable B&B, where you will be served (by yourself) an incontinental breakfast (Rice Krispies and lumpy milk.)

Run by a salt of the earth, pillar of the community type, you'll be sure to get the lowdown on all things sporting and politics or you can just go along and enjoy a spot of people watching. Curiously, it is the sort of pub where a woman may come in on her own, and feel safe, as long as she has a sense of humour. A good old pub, with proper, genuine people.
