Lovely pub good range of beers and food. Very comfy surrounding. Great and freindly service. swrivc - 24 Jul 2011 15:55
Lovely old style pub- good bar area, clean, tidy, lots of choice. Roomy beer garden with heated seating areas. The food is averge though not too expensive and will suite most- BUT, the service when we ate there was awfull, the staff seemed to be on valium or something. In the end after asking for the bill and waiting 30 mins to pay it we went to the bar to get some attention and settle the bill on our own accord, this also took another 10 mins! Anyways, as long as your ok with the mind numbing tedium of waiting for your meal you should enjoy it. ivanski - 12 Aug 2010 12:38
I think the George and dragon in fordwich.. Is one of the best pubs in and around Canterbury..In the last six months. Has had a refit returning the bars to old style English pub. And best of all a FREE HOUSE. I have read some of the old posts on here and remember a lot of the names. But some may remember me.. I have a lot of history with the G and D has I worked there for twelve brilliant years as bar Manager .keep up the good work the management and starff of the George and dragon ps you can join the George and dragon on facebook Excellent paul.kelvey - 29 Mar 2010 00:18 |
If you like village inns refurbished as gastropubs, then this is probably the place for you. Otherwise, you may find the clinical interior rather unappealing. The London Pride was fine, once they worked out which of the two handpumps was actually operational. rpadam - 30 Mar 2009 19:10
Hi Chris & Shane I was the Manager of this pub until January this year. Bob, Graham, John, Pete, the thursday ladies as well as loads of other regulars still came in all the time. Louise was still here with me, but moved up to assistant manager of a pub in London as it closed for the refurb. Only Claire and Jenny survied the refurb. Everyone else was laid off or made redundant, including me. Guess they wanted to go in a total different direction. Much more a restraunt only now! Not sure if any of the old caracters still go in, hope so as that was what made the George & Dragon such a good place to be. Hi to anyone that remembers me and good luck to all customers and staff at the best pub by far in this area. From.Paul - 11 Jun 2007 09:09
