| Standard stuff - fairly comfortable and spacious, with the usual beers, ales, etc on tap.....at its best when showing sporting events, and there is a special menu with some pretty decent meals for £3.45.....it doesn't try or pretend to be trendy, and for that you can't be too critical. not a bad pub, but a little uninspiring - a hell of alot better than the neighbouring walkout about, and some of Angels more pretentious bars...not bad. | Visited on the afternoon of New Year's Eve. No entry charge at this time of day. Uninspiring range of drinks, standard menu and reasonably polite and efficient staff. Disabled access (via passage at the side) and WC (key behind the bar). Martinl - 20 Jan 2009 19:05 |

| They could always rebrand if the Irish bit becomes unfashionable ;. It seemed more Aussie to me anyway. Grilled chicken sandwich on the way to a downstairs bar near Highbury & Islington. I wouldn't go out of my way to it but at least it had hot food at a time when other places nearby either didn't or wanted you to sit down for a whole set meal. | Went there about 3 weeks ago and the music was far too loud, far too many people hanging around the bar and not ordering drinks, which is irritating. However, we did apreciate the heat lamps and tables outside so we could smoke in comfort! ST2004 - 3 Aug 2007 19:28 |
