| This is a pleasant enough place, with olde world charm and lots of nic-nacks and interesting stuff in the place. Was renamed to The Darrowby to link it with the tv series All Creatures Great and Small. Worth a visit but the real ales are expensive as the others are. Staff not too friendly, but the locals seemed ok. You can imagine Mr Herriot and Mr Farnon walking in for a beer! noggin46 - 7 Dec 2010 20:39 |
| A dark and interesting interior, too much exposed brick but some really good carved woodwork, stained glass and even an old kitchen range in the back of the long single bar. Lots of victorian nic-nacs and ornamental brass objects. A pub with a great deal of potential is let down by some dire beer from Greene King, drinkable but not with much pleasure. The customers didn't seem all that pleased to be there either. anonymous - 9 Mar 2009 10:14 |
