| This freehouse has recently been taken on by a young couple as a first pub - although you wouldn't believe it. It's very much a "local" but the locals are very friendly as are the owners. Beer is good and the food is simple but terrific. Had Sunday lunch with a friend - wonderfully cooked roast and loads of very fresh local veg - and very reasonable (6.95 for one course - 9.50 for three). If you like dogs, a definite draw for the punters is Alfie - the pub's own 16-stone English mastiff... but don't worry, he's wonderfully docile! EastAnglian - 11 Jul 2006 15:52 |
