Visited this evening with my father to an open mic night and was greeted by the most miserable dick head of a landlord I have ever met! I am fully aware that he has been there for 10ish years but he is hardly making an effort to get new customers and I am very surprised he is still there!!!

Myself and a few colleagues recently started visiting this pub after work for a few drinks. Usually when we arrived at around 6.30pm there would only be about 2 or 3 other customers in there and occasionally the pub would be empty. We could not understand why there were so few customers as this is the only traditional pub in the area and you would imagine that their business would be booming. Several times a week there would be either no Carling, Tetley, Mild or Cider, and there was not a very good selection of bottled drinks either. After a few weeks it got beyond a joke and we started drinking in a nearby social club. I cannot see this pub being open very longer.

Regular user to this delightful village pub. Great friendly warm welcome on every visit, pleasant staff and a good choice of traditional beers, scrumpy ciders (my fav) and wines.
A small, comfortable restaurant serving great pub food at extremely reasonable prices.
Great choice on a new menu and a great specials selection, especially of a lunchtime with pie, chips & peas for £2!!! and they are delicious....
Looking forward to live music events starting soon too

Called in to find pub clips advertising Old Speckled Hen,Tetley Bitter and a mild.On ordering was informed by downbeat barman than only the mild was available unless we wanted bottles of Abbott.Chose the mild,Aston Dark, which was clear but sour and well past its best.Yuck.Pub very quiet and regulars smoking outside looked unfriendly. This pub seems to be dying on its feet and doesnt look like surviving under the current regime.Banner by the canal crowing about a range of quality ales very misleading.
