Very friendly pub. Visited it in December and had a good meal with friends. Excellent service. Will definitely visit again and recommend to others. Landlord took on the pub a few months ago and seems to be doing a great job.

"This is a local pub for the local people". Not what they said but what it felt like. Got there at midday and there were 4 or 5 locals who are probably there all day every day. Barmaid was miserable. Beer was fine though, with two local ales.

I was there on 29 June 07 For my mothers sbirtday (the big 60). The staff were great the food was perfect and the restaurant itself was simply brilliant well decorated simple but effective. Lovely view of the canal.

Highly recommended!!

Thanks to the staff for a lovely evening

A pleasant location if weather good enough to sit outside by canal. Inside smokey and crowded Friday afternoon. Beer Banks's with the guest Jennings-Crag Rat. Why they call this a guest now that W&D own Jennings beats me. Furthermore it does not taste the same to me. Perhaps they are using Wolverhampton water and not Cumbria water!
