I went into this pub recently and was really impressed. I visited the pub last summer and thought it was dire but am led to believe it is now under new management... and you can tell! The food was fantastic value. I had the biggest plate of fish and chips I have ever see for about £4.50. And it was battered at the pub so it tasted like proper fish and chip shop quality. The staff were really friendly and the place just had a really nice atmosphere. The garden was full of flowers and I believe they do bbqs in the summer with a bottle bar which I will definitely be going for. I would recommend this town centre pub to anyone.

I tried this pub just after the new year and quite liked it...The bar staff are seemingly all new now and the the venue is under new management. The bar is quite roomy and well looked after with a good choice of the usual ales, lagers and bar snacks.I most most impressed with the clean and tidy bar/drinks area and the service.Gone (at least when I was there) are the chav and over confident coke head brigade of former years.Like many pubs now they have a tv for minor sporting events etc though I wouldnt describe the place as a "sports bar" at all. There is a good smoking area to the side of the property, I'd def use this pub again next time I'm nearby and hope it's a nice nect time around.

pleasant atmosphere most likely created by new manager, so look for more positive changes. Launch night last friday was rightly very busy, great band playing, hope there's more of these nights to come. definately worth a try.

Been a few times before always been busy but ok good mixed crowed .... up until recently really gone down hill almost empty and on a friday night and still took ages to get served by staff straight out of the lost boys, all very depressing, who knows if my depression becomes permanent they may even give me a job there.

Can never make my mind up about this gaf its alright like many have said its got the grungy crowd...I think its turned increasingly popular over the last few months though due to the smoking ban and the closure of a few pubs in the town.
