user reviews of the Coach and Horses, Castle Bromwich

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

my god what can you say... ideal if you want to get a beer after a hard day at school... the land lady is obviously trying to win the worst service award as all the staff seem more interested in chatting at the top end of the bar and not concentrating on seving in turn!!! how annoying, most nights have live entertainment which is usually the dingles fighting ..... yeah it really is a place that you will remember!

Very large pub. This historical building is absolutely gorgeous inside if you take the time to look around - I wish they'd spend the money on restoring it to its former glory. Most of the doors have been sealed off, the only one open when we were there led into an unsightly car park.

The food is average - the Coach is owned by the Spirit Group, and mostly sells two-for-one meal deals at prices around £8 - £11. It has a few good-sized inside seating areas; the garden is large but seemed not to have many tables out when we were there. There's also a patio area with tables for smokers.

The crowd was mixed and included families with children, middle-agers and the younger set, who were mostly crowded around the bar area.

The drinks prices were much cheaper than in the South - got away with two pints for less than £5 - which is pretty much unheard of around London and the South East, where prices are now usually at least £6 per pair.

This is a cheap and cheerful venue, suitable for families and older local people in the day time. The staff are friendly enough and the food is OK. The service is quick, and the garden area outside looks great

I THINK THIS IA A LOVELY PLACE TO JUST SIT AND HAVE A NICE MEAL. THE FOOD IS GREAT AND WITH BIG PORTIONS. CHEAP DRINKS AND GRAT STAFF WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR.

student pub, full of the local school (and all underage!) serves food, but the drunk students ruin the atmosphere.
