| Okay, the handover is complete. The beer/music fest last weekend was brill (22 guest ales!!) Siggy has two full-time chefs turnng out locally sourced meals. Be aware that the food is cooked to order- so be prepared to wait....if you want something to do whilst your appetite grows-criticise his smelling pistakes on the menou broad!!! | The new landlord is making a real effort, a beer festival on for the August bank holiday, he has brought in an award winning chef (meals and service have improved no-end). He tries to use all local produce and trade is building. As I type he is battling to get his phone reconnected (last idiot refuses to pay the bill!) so he is using his mobile to run the business..07868689383..(sorry to sound like an advert but I would like him to do well) scoffer - 6 Aug 2008 09:30 |
| There is another new Landlord! The previous one had given up interest in the place (trying to save his other gaff?) and whilst the staff tried their best they were receiving no support. The previous manager, Siggy (pronounced Ziggy) has taken it over and will use his worldwise expertise in the catering/hotel trade to turn things around. Give him time... scoffer - 6 Jun 2008 11:30 |
| Went for dinner last Thursday week for the first time in 18 months. Very dissapointed, the food was of average quality but there just appeared to be no atmosphere. such a shame. stevenbrt - 20 Mar 2008 09:57 |
