This backstreet Shepherd Neame pub was my final stop in Bromley, before heading to North London for a football match. Its website publishes an 11am opening time. I'd been here earlier, only to find the door locked. Despite hearing voices inside, my call to the telephone (which I could hear ringing) was unanswered and went to answer phone. So, I gave up and headed back into town. I arrived back at nearer 1pm to find the place really busy. I enquired about the opening times (midday apparently) and the website. But, no apology was given for the incorrect information. Spitfire Gold, Master Brew & Whitstable Bay Pale was the rather uninspiring choice. My Master Brew was poor. Could be a fairly decent pub, with better beers and a better level of service from proprietors who give a damn. But, sadly this only warrants a 3/10 based on this visit.

A fine backstreet Shepherd Neame hostelry. Friendly service and a beautiful beer garden in the sunshine. Good beer. Nothing not to like.

This Shepherd and Neame pub that I don't think I've ever been to before was part of the 4 pubs in one night during my Bromley North crawl.

3 ales on all from Sheps on tap, during my stay that took in the monthly quiz I had several pints of Golding's, each one decent and well kept.

Small seating area to the front. Inside is a smallish bar with a lounge area on either side.

The Anglesey is old fashioned and homely, decent service, good choice of ales and a fun quiz.

I will return

The Anglesey Arms the best of the four pubs in its surrounding area of Bromley North. Good food is served especially the Sunday roasts. You can eat there and have a pint for around 10 pounds. There is a nicely presented garden at the rear, with a smoking shelter.
No parking unfortunately and the road has parking restrictions between 12pm and 2pm however all other times you can park there, even though space is limited.
The beer is a bit pricy for a drinkers pub but it tastes good and is served at the right temperature. Child and dog friendly, I would recommend this pub.
