Excellent . We have been visiting this pub for many years now and seen it change hands few times . I hope the present team stay as it is now at its best. Very good food reasonable price especially for fish dishes, Warm welcome and good beer. Just wish we could get there more often.

Having not been to the pub for about 2 years, i decided to go here on Saturday 15th September having read the brand new entry in the "Good Beer Guide 2008" we were the first in at approx 7pm and we had a warm welcome from the Landlord, by 7:30pm the pub was packed full of locals and visitors alike, they had 3 Real Ales on offer, all from Sharp's of Rock Cornwall, Doom Bar, Eden Ale and Special, i had the Special which was in good order and i also tried the Winkleigh Cider Sam's Medium which was excellent! We had the food also and it was outstanding, i had crispy Chilli tiger prawns and then i had the Rib Eye Steak with a brandy and peppercorn sauce, the portions were well sized and the steak was done superbly and was excellent, £3.50 for a starter and £9.50 for my main is pretty good for around these parts! we were actually in and out in 1hr and 15mins, 2 drinks and 2 courses of food for 3 people, not bad in an hour and 15 mins i reckon! Although a lot of people were eating they have kept the atmosphere of a country pub and you wouldn't feel out of place if you had come for a just drink. all in all it was an enjoyable time and we will be back.

We visited this pub on 28 August 2007.
Having read the reviews we had high expectations.
Unfounded..the garden was quite overgrown and the views of the Tamar, hard to see..the food was mediocre..took over half an hour..when I asked the waitress/barmaid..her attitude was very abrupt..verging on rudeness....the food did eventually come..not worth waiting for..certainly not deserving of a rating...we will not be revisiting

Family friendly pub with a beer garden, childrens menu is limited. Has two guest real ales and local cider. Friendly service. Parking can be tricky.
Nice views across the estuary, a pleasant place at sunset.

This pub is simply splendid. Recently renovated beer garden is fantastic in the summer with stunning views over the River Tamar. The pub inside is charming and characterful, with good local ale, local cider (strong) and the menu is sublime. There isn't much else to Bere Ferrers, although the church is lovely with some of the olderst stained glass in the country. Yes, this used to be my local. I miss it and visit when I venture back to deepest darkest Devon. Visit this pub and enjoy!
