Hi there my partner and me stumbled on this pub after a lengthy walk. and what lovley people, the food was 5* and the couple running it was so nice and helpful. but as they stated they was covering for the owners while they were on holiday. but it had to be said the welcoming was second to none and the food well mmmmmm.
thank you for a great meal and conversation.

Enjoyable visit. Popped in for a pint after a walk and ended up eating. Great Baguettes, substantial and great value.
Locals friendly and also the landlord and landlady. Made us, including the dog feel welcome.
My 13 year old daughter was intruiged by the layout as she has never been in an old style traditional pub before.

As said before, the public bar is basic, the lounge bar has made up tables for diners. Beer was Ramsbury and one other, I tried the Ramsbury and it was in good condition. After a bit of conversation, the landlady turned out to be quite pleasant after all - also worth a bit of effort to chat to the locals.

beer - 2 available (inc ramsbury) out of season - both tip top

accommodation - good value - £25 for small, comfortable single

splendid veggie food menu, def not standard chain pub fayre

from the accents you can guess the hosts are not wiltshire locals!

good hillwalking from doorstep (but beware of traffic when crossing that horrible road)

limiteb bus service stops outside

absolutely excellent beer - the best for miles
Pub is basically a restaurant on one side and a small bar on the other - restaurant side is best.
Landlady is probably the worst and most miserable landlady in the country - wortha trip for a pint and to annoy her!
