Oh you of little faith!! Times have changed since alot of you were in The Chipp. It now has POKER every Thursday QUIZ every Sunday MOVIES every Monday It has also been hosting Psychic Evenings, Opera, the Local Community Choir and other Community groups of which I'm involved in. It even achieved accreditation from London Tourism last year. I've had family stay in the rooms and they were very impressed as I will admit they had some reservations due to the reputation The Chipp has. It even has 3 real ales on at all times now. More than any other pub close by. Even the outside was renovated last year which has really improved the area not just the hotel. The only draw back is there is still no live music but it is suppose to be coming soon. Mango, the landlord, and his wife are really trying to turn the place around. Just look at the new flower baskets. All of you should pay a visit to see the changes. And if you're not impressed, why not ask to speak to Mango and give him some advice on how you would improve things. I hope to see you at the bar real soon!!!!!!! w9_pubspy - 16 Jul 2011 14:57
This pub a dive and I see no reason why anyone would want to go there. Not sure what Gatirhi is going on about?! If you are not a chav and you are in the area avoid it at all costs. 'gatirhi - 14 May 2010 22:43 "is worm & welcoming, and kids are welcome too...so stop saying shit about it!!!"' Nice! goddsy - 17 Oct 2010 11:07
i think The Chipp is a lovely pub,had a few problem in the past, but now everything is changed,it's my local, and i wouldn't change it with any other place, is worm & welcoming, and kids are welcome too...so stop saying shit about it!!! gatirhi - 14 May 2010 22:43
First time in here for years. When I was last here it felt like the sort of place where you'd get you head kicked in. One pint and I was out of there. On a Sat night there were about 5 people in there, one of whom appeared to be a bouncer, a couple totally off their heads and 2 people smoking in the porchway. Footie on the telly. Quite how it survives I don't know - maybe on the rooms being rented out. It looks an okay pub though, some nice original features, jukebox, decent layout. Surely, they can do something with it. All in all a depressing pint. Lyncroft - 8 Feb 2009 14:16
A pretty tatty pub, with no real ale on. They did have chilled GKIPA on – I decided not to try it. There’s some original Victorian tiling still in place, but that’s the only reason to venture in here. I can’t see me visiting again. RexRattus - 4 Sep 2008 17:39
