Ordering a vodka martini in the Lambeth Walk? Nah - not really the context for it. terenced - 14 Feb 2008 11:52
An Honest boozer... Does exactly as it sez on the tin.. No pretence, no crap. Won't ask for a vodka-martini though...yuk.. Jam_es - 15 Dec 2007 02:09
A true shithole of a drinking establishment. I mean, you'd think a business would be interested in selling things so they could make money. Apparently not this place. We walked in and could hardly see the smoke was so thick. We were ignored at the bar. Finally, after 5 minutes of trying to flag down the bartender's back another employee walked up, "Do you want a drink, love?" Damn, what a stupid question. No shit we want a drink. That's why we walked into a pub and sat at the bar. You think we came in here to inhale second-hand smoke? Anyway, my wife wanted a vodka martini, which was apparently outside of this employee's knowledge. Isn't this London? Ever heard of James Bond? Martini, shaken not stirred? That's what a martini is. After explaining the details, the employee could still not make the drink. She couldn't add a splash of martini and rossi. Had to give us a whole shot. What a shithole. boozemonkey - 10 Jan 2007 19:01
Excellent place for darts, dedicated oche area, you're never going to turn up and find a table of people eating their dinner on the oche. Beer just about drinkable. Dart_Man - 29 Nov 2006 13:21
A boozer that has certainly seen better days, a monumental freeze covering the furthermost wall as you enter this down trodden hostelry testifies as much. But don't let that put you off. An ambience of calm hangs over the place as small caches of locals talk amongst themselves and solitary drinkers sit staring at the television. The latter would normally be considered an irritant but in here it's preferable to whatever sensation silence might possibly impose upon proceedings - fear I'm guessing. Passing through for a few pints and maybe a game of pool and you can't go wrong. Whether this beguiling of establishments could hold ones interest over a whole evening I'm unsure, but if you ever go drinking in Lambeth I would highly recommend you stop by for at least one pint here. Good for: Any time but Sunday. I don't think it could handle the torpor. thenationofjames - 25 May 2006 14:14
