I never thought i'd say this. I've lived near this pub for years and seen it in many guises. In recent times, it has been lacking in every department and i've sworn i'd never go back more times than i'd care to remember. However, it seems to have turned a corner as my last visit was a real pleasure. On a sunny day you get a BBQ with Peroni on tap (at a reasonable price) in one of the best pub gardens in London. And there's the promise of an extended cider range as of this weekend, adding to an already outstanding beer offer. Count me in!

Great location but shame about the food - it really let's the place down. Ordered a steak sandwich and the meat was overcooked and tough, the bread hard and the salad wilted. My partners tart wasn't much better. The rocket in the accompanying salad must have been over a week old and most of the leaves were black. I haven't had pub food this poor in a while.

Walked along from Kingston-upon-Thames and stopped here. Large garden, cycle friendly, good service and range of drinks. Accept cards at the bar (bonus) ... only downside was that ir is heaving with kids on a sunny weekend. There are kid-free (licensed) areas of the garden but the best bet would be to drink inside on a nice day.

Good quiz on a Tuesday evening. Our food was nice, fairly standard gastro pub fare. The bar staff were very friendly and the bar manager in particular stood out for attentiveness and customer focus. They have several guest ales and I tried the Tribute - very good if a tad warm. All in all not bad and I would say it has improved from my last visit. Some of the comments about children are definitely right though - on a summers day the place is heaving with families so avoid if this is not your thing.

nicely decorated and great outside space. But if you don't facny drinking whilst a load of kids run around screaming, whilst their parents ignore them.....then don't come here.
