Despite the riverside location, this place comes into its own during winter. It's less busy and feels more intimate, particularly with the fires. But whatever the season, you can often evesdrop on the coked-up K-list sherlebriddies from the studio next door.

Took some friends from Australia here on Saturday. Weather was scorching. Expected it to be overrun. Sitting outside was fine, big table, comfy chairs. Ordered food and drink expecting nothing special. The Fullers Honey Dew was lovely, well kept and just the right temperature. The club sandwich was superb quality, 3 big slices of French bread, chicken and bacon. Service was fast, but we deliberately ordered early and they forgot one item from the order. still going to give this 7/10. Unexpectedly good!

Great location, shame about the quality of the beer. Obviously in desperate need of a decent cellar man.

My husband and I went to this pub a few weeks ago whilst riding our bikes along the river. We stopped and had dinner on the raised decking area and found it delightful. Rerading some of the comments on the slowness of the staff seems a bit strange as they were all very polite and quick with us. The manager on hand who introduced himself as Matt came over and engaged in a long conversation with my husband about the history of Fullers ale so well done Fullers for training your staff on the important things! He seemed to like it and when the food arrived which was about 30 minutes but they were busy, it was delicious. Crab salad and a fish n chips. couldn't have gone down better!
