Popped in a couple of weeks past, had the chocolate bitter very nice indeed.
Staff and landlady still very pleasant and helpful. Sorry I couldn,t stop due to driving, but the summeres coming what a good reason to return..

went here on saturday last to see hoe it was doing after a year or so spell. i found the staff very helpfull and what appears to be a new landlady very pleasant indeed, nothing seemed to much trouble. drinks and food all passed very well indeed from our small party and we were given a cream tea although it was not the times specified on the menu. All in all a good experience.

Nice pub, lovely setting, pity about the food, which was overpriced and mediocre. I had a "chicken salsa" dish - tasteless slab of chicken completely over-smothered in salsa sauce, nestling on a bed of soggy chips. Other party members fared slightly better (although one of the eggs in ham eggs and chips arrived with a broken yolk) All in all - poor value for money.

I had the impression that this establishment trades on its fabulous location , to the detriment of quality.

We moved to Tiverton last year and on the drive down went past the Fishermans Cot, saying we must visit when we get a chance. I'm glad we did as it's one of the most stunning places I've ever been to. We went for our first anniversary dinner and were placed on a lovely table by one of the large windows overlooking the lake. The staff were polite, attentive and courteous (and I know about this stuff - I'm a bar manager!). They saw to our every need and made us feel really at home. The food and drink was reasonably priced, and was fantastic. None of this fancy pants restaurant style food, just fantastic, filling, traditional pub food - the type that's hard to come by now! And the desserts, not had better in a long time! In all, our night out was brilliant. We are now regular visitors to the Fishermans Cot (especially their superb sunday carvery), we recommend it to any visiting friends, and take anyone who stays with us there for lunch / dinner!
Polite staff, great food, great price, FAB location - what more do you want in a pub?!
