| This is a surprisingly good pub, always a good choice of real ales on, pool table, jukebox, classic old school and untouched decor, just the way it ought to be. ToxtethOGrady - 22 Feb 2009 21:16 |

| Great place. Fantastic beer, friendly atmosphere and staff. Best pub for miles around. MikeT77 - 11 Jul 2008 17:52 |
| Fantastic pub with numerous real ales on. Good home cooked food served at lunch time. Although from the outside, this little gem looks a tad run down, its made up for by the quality and varying range of beers on tap. All hand pull and usually about 5 or 6 different ones to choose from. Don't ask for the usuall bitter because in here it dose'nt exist. Most are Pale in colour and full in flavour. Behind the bar there is a stack of pump clips giving the customer an idea of what is in the cellar. Real fires in winter and a warm atmosphere the rest of the time this place comes highly recommended. Run by a Grumpy landlord from over the northern boarder, ( Only Joking about the grumpy bit ) and landlady who will keep all but the devil himself in line, they both add a great feel to the pub. | Brilliant pub, and yes, to add to the idiotic comment, NO SAN MIGUEL, which is not so much beer as donkey piddle. If you like your beer fizzy and characterless, there are plenty of local alternatives. This is how a pub should be - not some corporate monstrosity serving characterless p1ss to the clueless whilst boring them with Sky Bloody Telly. Massive selection of great beers, great atmosphere, tatty and run down, but - who cares about the decor ? Easily the best pub in Macc. anonymous - 17 May 2007 10:49 |
