I have been going to this pub for years, and have always found it to be great. Lovely well kept garden, good food and friendly staff. Well worth a visit indeed. tuscany - 1 Oct 2008 19:26
I am very local, and have really given up on this place. New management apparently, still following the same example. We had the most pathetic sunday roast here today, for 8.50 we got one slice of beef, and two small roast potatoes, and very little else, except for one large yorkshire pudding. Garden was swarming with bees, and the playground area was pretty dangerous with rusty sharp metal on the swings and slide! having had mixed experiences over the last few years finally given up. Do not bother with this place when the Parrot is only a few miles further on, and is 100 times better! bubbster - 17 Aug 2008 23:20
Good food, good, beer, friendly staff. Lovely garden. All round very nice. pistolknight_ViVi - 1 Aug 2008 02:32
I am very surprised by the previous comments, the garden is well kept and stunning in the summer. I have always found the food fresh and tasty. The staff are always pleasant and the pub itself is cosy and friendly. T.Lewis - 15 Oct 2007 17:06
Lived here for 8 years - pub never failed to disappoint. Beer always substandard, food pub grub at restaurant prices (mum and brother got food poisoning),garden could be good but is just too big and plain. Worst of all is the smell of the place - however short a time your visit, you and all your clothes smell of a deep fat fryer. Don't go here - every village in the locality has a pub that's better. jdawks - 10 Jun 2007 23:46
