| I'm delighted to say that the Tamworth Arms is staying well and truly open and is under new management. The selection of drinks has vastly improved, with Youngs plus either London Pride, IPA or Bombadier on tap, and also in bottles. The wine selection has also multiplied, for those who prefer the odd tipple. The friendly bar staff always make you feel welcome, and of course the roaring fire is going down well at this time of year. Kerb appeal is also improving, and the new management is open to suggestions for improvement. | The John Bonser roadshow paid what is sadly likely to be his last ever visit to this pub last Sunday lunchtime. I will always have a soft spot for this pub - first ever Youngs pub that I visited way back many many moons ago ( back in the 70's ) but, according to the Croydon Advertiser ( 18 Jan ) Youngs are set on closing it as it doesn't make money. | This pub is at risk again, according to the Croydon Advertiser - 4 Jan 2008 Local property developers have submitted a new application which would involve demolishing the pub and replacing it with flats. Lets hope that this too is rejected JohnBonser - 14 Jan 2008 13:01 |
