| We arrived at this lovely village pub near to lunchtime closing time but nothing was too much trouble for the Landlord and staff. The food was excellent and service likewise. Definitely worth a visit, I personally shall return to sample more dishes on the menu and of course the fine ales. PS. Don't be put off by some of the earlier negative reviews which apparently refer to a previous Landlord. Tony the current Landlord and his wife are very warm and welcoming. robharmer - 29 May 2011 21:58 |

| Very Impressed we went whilst passing through the village on a Thursday Night which seemed to be their Theme night. This particular Thursday was Steak night and wow what a steak, choice of two courses for £17ish of which i had a stilton bacon chickory salad then a steak to die for and the deserts were amazing. We went back the following week and it was Fish Night, well true to form it was utterly brilliant and no sight of chavy staff as alluded to in another review. As pub grub goes this place is great and the everyday menu looked enticing now on our regular visit list! eatwell808 - 12 Oct 2009 14:16 |
| Thought this would be a trditional pub until I walked through the door - it's a restaurant in all but name, although they have some details of regiments and local items of interest on the wall. However, there were two Brakspeare beers on the pumps, the bitter I had was very good. The chicken, sweetcorn and asparagus soup was home made and one of the best I've ever had.
