Good pub in the centre of Castletown. Decent beer, friendly welcome and efficient service. Will be back for more at next years Southern 100 Races.

I HAVE STAYED AT THE GEORGE FOR THE PAST 7 YEARS FOR THE SOUTHERN 100 AND ONCE BETWEEN CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR.

WITH ONE EXCEPTION(DOWN TO THE THEN MANAGER THAT YEAR 2007) WE HAVE NEVER,NEVER ENCOUNTERED ANY PROBLEMS.

WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN WELL LOOKED AFTER BY POLITE AND WELL MANNERED STAFF.

GOOD PLACE TO STAY,CLEAN AND TIDY,SOCIABLE AND FUN.WILL CARRY ON STAYING THERE.ALREADY BOOKED FOR 2009.THERE ARE NORMALLY 4-6 OF US,AVERAGE AGE ABOUT 60+ BUT NOT DODDERING OLD FARTS.NEXT YEAR IM BOOKED TO GO ON MY DUCATI INSTEAD OF FLYING AND USING PUBLIC TRANSPORT(WHICH IS EXCELLENT BY THE WAY).

HOPE TO MEET YOU AT THE GEORGE,IT A GOOD PLACE.GIVEN IT A RATING OF 8 COS DOSN'T MATTER HOW GOOD YOU ARE IT CAN ALWAYS GET BETTER!!

Big pub on the square opposite the castle - only one real ale - Okells, but well kept. Rear games / TV room very noisy and full of younger clientelle - front lounge a bit quieter and used by more mature customers. Some tables out the back for outdoor drinking. Food is served at lunctimes & often live music in the evening. Accommodation was clean and satisfactory but breakfast is not included & charged extra if you want it. We visited on a bank holiday weekend and in the evening the place was full of extremely drunken people. A fight even broke out at teatime one night and the police arrived & carted them off in a van! A fairly common occurrence here apparently.

this pub has recently been refurbished and has improved 100%.The new managers are forward looking and seem to be creating a good atmosphere.By far the best pub in Castletown.

Recently refurbished and obviously the Flagship pub of Castletown. Very busy at weekends when live bands are on. The back bar is extremely popular with the younger element and the front bar (lounge) tends to cater for older, more refined people.

Okells Smooth is a good pint. Food served during the day.

Has to be a must for a crawl round Castletown.
