Fairly standard Greedy King fare. Somewhat cavernous, which doesn't help the atmosphere in my opinion, but did have 5 ales, which is good. Very middle of the road, overall.

2nd October popped in for a beer and bite on way to tube station.
Pub looks nice its large and very clean.
A good selection of ales but it was by far the most I paid for a pint while on our day in London.
Onto the food, I decided on a normal burger my partner ordered a falafel burger as she is a veggie. after we sat down to wait we were told they had run out of the falafel burgers and also the other veggie option so we cancelled the food and asked for a refund as she could not eat.
We got the refund for only one meal so I had to go to the bar and ask for the refund for the second meal which I eventually got. I have to say the barman was very friendly so I cannot fault that but it did put a small dent in our evening.
We finished our drinks and left quickly to seek food elsewhere.

Nice atmosphere. Like to go back when I had more time. Had a bad experience there yesterday. Wanted to grab a quick sandwich before getting to a meeting nearby at 1.30. I ordered at 12.45 and had to ask if my order was ready at 1.20! They may have been short staffed but it was only a sandwich. Good food, good price but I had to practically inhale to get to my meeting on time.

A very good local pub, great location for meet being right opposite main tube and on busy bus routes, Basement bar Porters very hip and romantic, not always open thoough - keep trying to think of reasons to hire it!!! Staff very friendly, so dont undertstand previous comment, though there is a turnover so the 'offenders' must have left by now as management is very hands on. Food very good and fair price. Lots of space where you can have table/s away from the throng - good party and meeting venue.

I had a disastrous experience here yesterday when I took a number of colleagues for a drink and lunch to celebrate my birthday. There were long delays in getting served and the barmaid was appalling and got a lot of drinks wrong. For example she didn't know what a spritzer was and gave us Guinness when we asked for Heineken.
She messed up our food order and my own lunch went cold while I tried to sort it out. The barman was rude when I initially asked about the food error - he said 'nothing to do with me - SHE took your order'.
I spent a lot of money in there yesterday but rest assured will not be going back, nor will my colleagues, which is a shame as we work so nearby.
