It has the excellent Marble Beers on draught and in bottles. It has a much younger clientèle than can be found in the Marble Arch. However, there is not much space in here and it is always very busy, so I was forced to stand right by the door feeling cold.

Don't like the name and the Ginger Marble was more overpoweringly ginger than I've ever had it. In saying that the pub itself seemed friendly and well decorated, I wouldn't want to be in there while it's busy though.

Small bar in Manchester's trendy Northern Quarter, as noted owned by the Marble Brewery, easily Manchester's best micro if you ask me.
It has one room with a big long table and not much other seating, and as it gets rather busy you may well find yourself standing.
Unlike the well-known Marble Arch, it's thoroughly contemporary like most of the surrounding bars, and is clearly aiming for a younger clientele. However, the wallpaper is derived from the architecture of the Marble Arch thus providing something of interest.
The real ales are all Marble, and whilst the selection is not as great as that of the Arch it's pretty decent. They are served directly from the barrel, like at a beer festival.
All in all this place can't really match up to the excellent Arch, but is more central and is a worthy addition to the hit-and-miss bars of the Northern Quarter- definitely one to visit alongside Odd and Bar Fringe for example, for the quality of their beers. Definitely worth a try.

I loved the interior of this pub, with its tiled wall and ceiling, its old wooden door and the curiously sloping floor. Its a classic city boozer. The real ales from both the Marble brewery at the back and from guest breweries are another reason to visit. During our visit yesterday, they had their own Stouter Stout, Manchester Bitter, Lagonda IPA, Organic Ginger, Best & 3.9% plus Summer Wines Diablo IPA, Pictish Claymore and Millstone Grain Storm. Broadoak Moonshine was the real cider of choice. I didn't stay long as I wanted to sample some of the other local hostelries. But I saw enough to warrant a few more return visits.

One of the best pubs in the country. The beer is fantastic as is the pub.

I am a reasonably frequent visitor at lunch as my best mate likes it a lot. The food is -interesting. Sometimes I've really enjoyed it, other times when I've been in an awkward mood I've found the range a tad limited. Good choice of beer, and I don't recall a bad pint. There's quite a range of punters at lunch time from workmen in dirty overalls to rather posh 'professionals'. Whoever you are, you won't feel out of place. I advise arriving by 12-00 to be sure of a table though as it is busy and popular.

Still the place to be in Manc, great ale and friendly folk with a top jukebox. What else you need?

Full of character, good beer looked after. You'll find all types of folk in here, everyone welcome. Always have a good crack with the doorman, bit of a legend with the locals. Nice to see places like this still about. Old Peculier recommended!!

Been visiting here on and off for a few years now, always greeted by friendly staff and the ales are excellent, my husband says the best in Manchester but then he's a bit of a rocker at heart so i expect his opinion is influenced by the jukebox! Nice beer garden at the back too.

Very nice, old-fashioned sort of pub with decent beer. Lunch time food is good too and it's reasonably quiet.

Magnificent! The saviour of our evening. Though it was Saturday night we found a table in this beautiful pub and had indisputably the best pint of the evening (the wonderful, smoky Pitch Porter in tip-top condition). With gorgeous tiling, woodwork, moulded ceiling and a labyrinth of rooms, it's deservedly listed in CAMRA's national inventory of heritage pubs. There's also an epic range of malt whisky and bourbon and some rare bottlings of Jack Daniels. If there's a better pub in Manchester, I don't know of it.

A rare gem, certainly one of my top 10 pubs in the UK. If you dont like crowds avoid Saturday afternoon.

Passed it yesterday afternoon, but closed and didn't have time to revisit later (a quick look on my phone suggested it opened at 7pm and my train was at 7.45pm). Nice looking building from outside, a real gem. The landlady celebrates 40 years running the pub on 27th January 2011, earlier comments suggest keeping the quality high may be a struggle possibly due to immobile bar staff and/or lack of custom due to restricted opening times (reminiscent of when landlady first arrived).

A lovely pub, unpretentious, with some very nice original woodwork and glasswork, but the Deuchars was distinctly ropey last night so we abandoned our unfinished pints and went to the Briton's Protection.

Yet again I travel from Carlisle on a pub crawl to find this gem closed at 15.30 on Saturday afternoon, no wonder its not in the GBG, fortunately there are several other great pubs within a short stroll. Try Rain Bar, Britons Protection and Knotts. Whoever owns / runs this pub needs a kick up the jacksie, when will they realise pubs are not an amusement for themselves but a public service, if this was in the GBG I for one would recommend exclusion.

The brewery must have kicked the previous owners out. Doesn't look like it has been sold - never been advertised. The Greyhound was closed earlier in the week and reopened on Saturday. Looks like the brewery have taken the pub back.
Good luck to the new manager. Does anyone know if the Greyhound will be showing football?

I have been to visit "the greyhound" and notice saying closed!!!!
What have the recent management done to this great pub!!!!! Shame on you Russ and Co. Have to go down to Worsley now. Goodbye Greyhound, hello Worsley pubs and Yew Tree - Ohhhhhhh
