Cork, Bathback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
A good sized city centre pub that looks as though it has recently had a makeover. The main bar counter is on the left as you walk in, with a raised area in the rear right corner. This is carpeted with a few mirrors built in to the walls and some floral wallpaper. The flooring elsewhere is mostly reclaimed wood boards and a few slate tiles.
There�s nothing really wrong with it, but like so many places that have had a makeover, and also try to attract different people at different time of the day, it�s all a bit generic and lacking in any real personality (the barmaid thus fitted in well � the only words I got out of her the whole time were �Five pounds eight-five�). There were a couple of leather sofa�s in the window at the front which was a pleasant enough spot to watch the world go by. I noticed a projector screen here, although it was rolled up out of sight. Presumably it comes in to use to show major sporting fixtures. Decor is the usual shade of gastro-pub green painted on wood panelling, with cream plaster above.
There is a pleasant enough patio area at the back, with a large umbrella covering and infra-red heaters. The food menu looks to be a decent enough pub grub offering, with most of the mains being around the �8 - �12 mark, and there was also a small specials board. The pub is open until 1:00 am on Fridays and Saturdays, so presumably has quite a different feel then to how it was mid afternoon.
Beers on tap were all from the Box Stem Brewery with their Cork Red Handed, Chuffin� Ale and Derail Ale. Ciders were Strongbow and the excellent Orchard Pig from Glastonbury.

studenty type bar - quite lively. nice outside area as previously said, not bad.

After several failed revamps I think they've finally done a reasonable effort.
The menu looks good (haven't tried it yet), reasonable beer selection, great outdoor area, well worth a visit.

Had a major refurb a while back. Nice friendly staff, decent beer, good pub grub and a huge terrace out the back which gets packed out on sunny days.

God, Eldridge Pope have really done it now. First it was smiths, then DYMK now its the (gay-friendly Tapas) Cork and Bottle do they have the Carry on team naming pubs. It's a tip that's all you need to know.
