Yes the beer has improved and yes the wine selection is better but why why why does the landlord not have the log fire lit on cold winter nights ( especially on friday and saturday nights). Having a decent pint and sitting in a pub with a log fire lit will attract more customers in the winter.

Went into the Nags last week and great wine is back - the horrid wine pump has gone and the Pedigree was excellent. Well worth the visit - fab pub.

Went there on a snowy evening, and with the fire on it had a really nice atmosphere. This is the best pub in East Leake with a real charm, but the beer range (Abbot and Pedigree) is a bit limited. For the wine drinkers I'm afraid to say that this comes out one of those vile steel pump contraptions, so consequently you feel pretty rank the next day - just like the wine . Bring back wine from the bottle and I'd go more often. On the plus side the bar staff are really nice and its a very friendly pub.

Hey, what's with the low rating? I thought this a very good local. My dog and I (just visiting) were made welcome by staff and regulars on a crowded saturday evening barbecue/football watching. Beer was just pedigree and abbott but was nice enough. A rambling characterful pub where the staff clearly work hard to maintain their undoubted success. I have given an artificially high score (10) to bump up their average, although the pub is worth an 8. Just one interesting guest beer would make a lot of difference, but I know that the pubcos are not always so cooperative in this.

Of the three pubs in East Leake the Nags is definitely the best with old word charm, beams, horsebrasses and open fires in the winter.
