Ye gods!
This is going back .....
This place used to be a beacon at the end of a hard evening on the weights with the heavy brigade.
Dave Bamborough, Roger Wiles, Andy Kerr, for eight or nine pints, and even one or two of the sprinters, perhaps, for a half of something .....
I'm positive it's different now.
Then - it was sound.
Used to do Lamot on draft.
Serious falling down water that was - a chemical lager that was the big brother of a well-known continental lager [the Alzheimer's has got me - I can't remember what that one was!].

I actually Have worked at the pub since dec 03 and I think although we have our moments of nutters with their ocasional fights, and used to be regulars that treat the staff like sh** I think we do alright. We sell good beer and spirits at good prices. We know most people that walk through the door, We have great Kareoke on a thursday night, and wicked regulars that will look after staff as much as we look after them. The staff work as a team with a great manager of the moment, BERIC. So dont knock the windmill untill your fully apart of it!

The latest in a long line of incarnations of this pub. Dont worry its still full of loonies, layabouts and drunks. Oh, and the Gents still floods on a regular basis.

Great fun!

The pub itself boasts great viewing for sports with numerous televisions positioned in quiet and busy areas of the house. Fantastic atmosphere by the big screen in the main area during big games that can not be found anywhere else nearby. Day times are always pleasant with the young staff being very social. The recent introduction of doormen on popular nights means incidences stated in previous reviews are kept to a minimum. Overall a cosy yet lively pub which also holds one of the better karaoke nights.

boo - pub chains bad for the beer business!!! I tried to get a gig there for my band and was told agencies only and that they would not accept local lads - why the hell not? Won't be back.
